LUCTUS new album “Stotis” and European tour!

The time has come to announce that our new studio album is now officially complete! The recording of this album – like that of the previous one, “Jaučiant Pabaigą Arti” (“Sensing that the End is Nigh”) – took place in the already familiar “Phoenix” studio in Riga, under the supervision of the sound shaman Gints Lundberg. The instruments were recorded during February, while editing and mastering were completed during February-March. 

We have already previously announced that our new opus will be called “Stotis” (“The Station”), and will consist of seven tracks: 

I. Nežiūrėk, nežibėk (“Don’t Look, Don’t Shine”)
II. Audra slenka virš miesto (“A Storm is Creeping Over the City”)
III. Mano kumštis (“My Fist”)
IV. Mirusių žvaigždžių šviesoj (“In the Light of Dead Stars”)
V. Monotoniškas juodmetalis (“Monotonous Black Metal”)
VI. Stotis (“The Station”)
VII. Pakaruokliška vienatvė (“A Hanged Man’s Solitude”)

The new album is not a concept one – unlike our previous work, “Jaučiant Pabaigą Arti”, here each track is a separate rite, a separate experience. The term “Station” archetypically defines the essence of all songs – it marks a journey to all directions: the subconscious, death, and twists of life. 

Kommander Lu. – about the themes and the title of the new album: “This word is of great meaning and significance– I would even say, a magic charge - to me. This is a very simple everyday term that defines a very concrete object, but at the same time – if you look deeper – this word acquires new meanings in various contexts. This is the station from which you start a journey to various dimensions –simple stops, the subconscious, and death. A station may mean something like a concentration in one point/state – with various directions, but still with a definition of the self in this concrete field.”

Certain changes related to the release and promotion of the album took place while the recording session was still underway. By the initiative of the band and by the agreement with the head of “Ledo Takas Records” Tadas, a decision was made to entrust the release and promotion of the album to the company “Inferna Profundus Records”. The album will be released in the form of a digipak, and will be designed by a well-known professional Rosvaldas Serapinas. “Inferna Profundus Records” is also planning on releasing T-shirts and other album-related merchandize. The album will be available for purchase in April. 

In addition to that, LUCTUS reached an agreement with a Dutch booking agency “Snook bookings” (http://snookbookings.com), which from now on together with “Inferna Profundus Records” will be organizing the band’s concerts in Lithuania and abroad. 
On April 13, the band is organizing an exclusive presentation of the album – in “Fluxus Ministerija” in Kaunas city. In this presentation ceremony, LUCTUS will be joined by the Lithuanian black metal monsters NAHASH (who have not given concerts for quite some time), an Estonian atmospheric black metal band THOU SHELL OF DEATH, a band from Kaunas AMŽIUS (who also rarely give live shows), and a young, energetic, and promising death metal band CRYPTS OF DESPAIR. Other details of the album presentation concert will follow shortly. 
After this show, LUCTUS is going to depart on a two-week European tour with the finishing concert in Vilnius on May 11.

The horde Pesticum will re-release their debut demo "Fog's Nocturnal Sadness" via Desecration of Souls Productions in tape format. This demo will come again in some months.

Meanwhile, the band is working in the next demo.

The Voice of Lucifuego MASTER after years of silence...

1. Saludos Lucifuego Master! Estoy seguro de que hace un montón de años que no te hacen una entrevista. Cuál fue la última que te hicieron, para qué zine y en qué año?
Hail hermano! Gracias por tu apoyo a Lucifuego y a la escena Black Metal. Sobre las entrevistas, no somos de hacer muchas. No por nada en concreto, sino porque nos gusta estar presentes pero no constantes.
Creo que hemos hecho cinco entrevistas con esta en 20 años… una cada cuatro años es perfecto, aunque tengo otra pendiente para Cantabrian Extreme Metal, así que voy a romper el promedio.

2. En 1992 no creo que exisitieran muchas más bandas de Black Metal a nivel nacional. Pero algo que me extraña es por qué no fue LUCIFUEGO más famosa en su día. Actualmente, muchos se acuerdan y conocen Gorthaur, Blazemth, Nazgul, Primigenium, Beheaded Lamb, Akerbeltz u otros, y de hecho, muchos de estos míticos son posteriores al nacimiento de LUCIFUEGO. Dinos qué opinas de esto.
Lucifuego forma parte de nuestras almas y no nos regimos por nada más que la fría y oscura noche, por la maldad y el frío que conduce a la muerte. El ser o no ser, no nos importa. Lucifuego tiene el “status” que desea.

3. ¿Cómo fue grabada la demo “Winds of the Past”? Contaste con el batería de Abhorrent, no? Con quién grabaste y cómo fue distribuída?
“Winds of the Past” fue nuestro primer paso para dejar ver lo que es y significa Lucifuego. Fue grabada por Gerardo, guitarrista de Anticlerical, en el invierno de de 1992. Esta grabación necesitó la colaboración de Chuchi, batería de la desaparecida y mítica banda de Death Metal cántabra Abhorrent.
La distribución corrió por cuenta de la propia banda y su objetivo fueron lugares relacionados con el Black Metal y distintos fanzines especializados en España y Latino America.

4. Recuerdo que la demo “Blaze of Lust” estuvo en diversos puntos de venta por Santander. Yo compré mi copia en 1996. Dónde más moviste este material? Quiénes son las almas que te acompañaron en la grabación de ésta demo?
“Blaze of Lust” fue grabada en 1995 por Lucifuego Master, contando por primera vez con el actual batería de Lucifuego: Argus, también batería de Stinkupus y actual batería de Undernoise, banda de Grind/Death Gore.
Al bajo estaba Dettenbach, también bajista de Stinkupus, y yo, Lucifuego Master, a las guitarras y voz, también de los desaparecidos Death Metaleros Stinkupus.

5. A qué se debió el parón desde entonces hasta 2005, que retomaste todo para grabar “El Renacer del Mal”?
El silencio es necesario para hacer música insana y oscura. Lucifuego requiere de ese don y lo usa a su antojo.

6. Cuál es la ideología y creencias de Lucifuego Master? Háblanos de lo que es para ti el satanismo, el paganismo y todo lo relacionado con el Black Metal.

Sólo quiero y protejo ciertas cosas y a ciertas gentes, el resto…Sobre mis creencias, me las guardo, pero creo que son claras.
El paganismo me gusta y tiene mi respeto, no como la mierda del cristianismo y demás religiones… Las odio y también las necesito en su medida, pues Lucifuego y el Black Metal no tendría sentido sin ellas.

7. Habéis fichado por el sello americano Unmerciful Death Productions, quien reeditará “El Renacer del Mal” inminentemente, y editará el siguiente album. Háblanos del ataque a los directos.
¡Si! Estamos en el sello Unmerciful Death Productions desde el verano pasado y estamos muy ilusionados con la nueva etapa. Hemos decidido ampliar nuestras alas y dar otro paso más en la vida de Lucifuego, editando por segunda vez “El Renacer del Mal” a nivel internacional, y debido a este gran paso, estamos preparados, después de 20 años, a propagar la peste en nuestros directos.

8. Lucifuego Master, termina ésta entrevista como te parezca oportuno…
Gracias a ti, y gracias a cada hermano que practica y necesita Black Metal, pues es el único real y auténtico, cuál magia.

After of some time with no news and some problems with the line up, Moonshine returns with a new demo effort! This four track, plus two bonus tracks, demo is called "Among Centuries (Thy Will be Done", and will be out via Till you Fukkin Bleed Productions (Poland) in tape format.
